American Revolution
Causes and Key Leaders
In 1689, the English Bill of Rights was passed down which was put into place. This is where the rights and liberties were protected under the English law. The Americans however argued that they weren't afforded the same rights. On February 10,1763, the French and Indian War left the British with a massive war debt. The British looked to raise revenue by imposing new taxes and reversing its policy of Salutary Neglect. Later on, the British imposed the Proclamation and the Americans believed that the British were siding with the Native Indians against the colonists.
